MPG Books Group invests £3m in Inkjet technology

MPG Books Group Ltd, the UK's largest independent book and journal manufacturer, today announced its £3 million capital investment programme in Inkjet technology.

MPG has chosen to partner with Kodak and the UK's first Prosper 1000 for mono book and journal manufacturing. MPG will also score two world firsts with Timsons unique T-Fold folder/collator, complimented by Kolbus with an innovative adaption of their KM600 binding system.

Tony Chard, MPG's Group Chief Executive comments, “I am delighted that after 12 months of thoroughly reviewing this technology and undertaking exhaustive print trials, MPG becomes the first book and journal manufacturer to not only state it's intention in regard to Inkjet technology but also to be clear in terms of its operational model. We are scheduled to commence integration testing later this month and expect to be in full commercial manufacturing in June. With this schedule MPG will clearly be ahead of the curve in the UK, offering its clients and Global Alliance partners the unique ability to leverage the technology first.”

Further details will be available shortly.
